My current work concerns an inner narrative, an intuitive examination of personal cosmology and the underlying meaning in life. My work attempts to express the energy that underlies all form; the tension and movement between birth, dying and rebirth; the birthing and ‘articulation’ of form and inevitability of life cycles. I am inspired by complex patterns and textures in nature; the constant changing tones of climate and landscape, real and perceived, inner and outer. Existent within this elemental tapestry, I am exploring multi-layered realities that interpenetrate, and impact the human experience – that shape and inform personal identity; the complex, inner dimensions of the psyche and its relation to spirit. This involves the delicate and the robust, the shadow and the darkness – the juxtaposition to light and the renewal of life and the evolutionary path. These works attempt to explore these elements, reflecting my particular fascination with layering, patterning, symbols and metaphor.
